Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need an appointment?

Our shop is by appointment only, this allows us to give you the best and most personal service. Our pieces are all unique and sometimes it’s easy to pass by a gem. There are a few ways to set up an appointment. Appointments usually last about 1 hour and we add a 30 minute cushion incase you are running late or need more time after your hour is up. We recommend checking out our booking page BOOK NOW to see all available times. You can also email us at info@bellebridalatelier.com or you can call/text (847) 363-2714.

when Should I start dress shopping?

Due to the most recent Covid-19 Pandemic, order times are now pushed back.

Most of our designers require 6-8 months to create your made to order pieces. We recommend research and shopping around 10-12 months before your wedding date and purchasing your gown around 9-10 months before your date so that you have enough time for alterations, allow 12 weeks for alterations.

We recommend doing some research before coming in, check out our DesignerS page to see what we have! Most of our pieces are in the galleries but let us know if there is something specific you are looking for. Please allow us at least 10 business days to request a gown in from a designer if we do not carry it in our permanent collection, please also note that not all designers loan out gowns and we apologize for that in advance!

How many people can attend my appointment?

Our boutique is a cozy space and for you to have the best experience we can accommodate you and 3 guests. Our space is also wheelchair friendly and we can accommodate strollers! We recommend 3 guests because of our space and also for your sanity during this big decision moment. It can be hard having too many opinions and we want our brides to feel safe and able to express themselves through their dress, thats why we carry hard to find, high fashion designers.

What should I bring to my appointment?

We recommend bringing undergarments, please do not try on our dresses without any underwear for sanitary reasons. We have sample shoes to try on if you wish but we do recommend brining shoes in case ours do not fit. We do not have a pedestal for our clients to stand on as we feel that they do not give you a realistic view of what the dress will look like on you.

How much do your dresses cost?

We have several brackets of designers, their ranges are marked on their designer page, click on our Designers page to see what designers fall under what price range.

Opening Collection $2,500-$3,500

Demi Couture $4,000-$6,000

Couture $8,000-$15,000

Our custom gowns start at $6,000 and go up from there, these are gowns that are created from scratch and are one of a kind for you! Our designers also offer custom changes which are upon request.

What sizes are your samples?

We carry size 6, 8 and 10. We do have several styles in 14 and 16 but we have come up with ways to try on almost every dress! We are working hard to get a larger variety of sizes in our best sellers so that everyone can confidently try on our gowns. Also note that our gowns are ordered to your measurements so proportions and fit will be closer than most bridal shops!

What does the process look like once I decide to buy?

After you book, your consultation with our team will be about an hour of trying on pieces and selecting favorites. Some brides return for a follow up appointment if they need time to sleep on it, we totally understand! Once you decide on the perfect dress we take about 25 measurements, photos of you in the gown and in a tank top and leggings if necessary for the designer as reference. Because our gowns require more attention in measurements we do not use a size chart but provide the designer with your specs. If your gown selection is from a designer that only does size charts we will let you know before the purchase so that you are aware of all of the proportional issues that may come up in alterations. A 50% deposit is required for all gowns. Little White Dresses by Amsale, veils and accessories require the full amount up front. Once your deposit is made, all of your measurements and photos are sent to the designer so that they can begin working on your pattern and gown. As soon as the gown is ready it will be shipped to our store for quality inspection and we will contact you to set up a gown viewing. The remaining balance of your gown must be paid as soon as you come in for the gown viewing. The gown viewing can also be an alteration consultation if you request one. Alterations take 8-10 weeks and expect to come in for at least 5 appointments.

Please call or email if you have any questions we are always happy to help. We can’t wait to meet you!
